INTERCOM
To call someone on intercom, either pick up the handset and press INTERCOM (if it is not already illuminated), or just press INTERCOM to call hands-free.
INTERCOM
To call someone on intercom, either pick up the handset and press INTERCOM (if it is not already illuminated), or just press INTERCOM to call hands-free.
Then press the appropriate numbers from the chart above, or press a pre-programmed button (if any) on the phone.
If you hear a beep, that means that the other phone is set up for "call announcing with hands-free response," and you can start talking immediately after the beep, which announces your call to the other person.
If you hear a conventional ringing tone instead of a beep, that means that the other phone is set up for ringing, and you will have to wait for someone to answer before you can speak.
Keep in mind that hands-free conversations operate in only one direction at a time, so you have to take turns.
If you call someone on intercom and get a busy signal, and your call is URGENT, you can signal the other person by dialing 1 (if the other phone is set-up for "internal call waiting").
DOOR INTERCOM
If someone calls from a door intercom, there will be a distinctive burst of three rings from all phones that are programmed to respond to door calls, and display phones will show "Door Phone 1, or "Door Phone 2", etc. Just pick up a handset or press SP-PHONE, and talk. If your phone stops ringing before you have a chance to answer, dial 311 for the front door, or 312 for the back door, or 313 etc. if you have more doors..

PAGING
If you don't know where someone is, you can make an announcement to all of the phones, instead of searching room-by-room.
Simply pick up the handset and press INTERCOM (if that button is not already illuminated) and dial 330. You will hear a beep, and then you can make an announcement, such as "Bill, Charlie is on line one."
If you want to have a conversation rather than just make an announcement, dial 330 and say "Bill, please call 43."
43 is the response to 330. If someone hears the original announcement and dials 43, he will be connected to the person who dialed 330, and the speakers in other phones will be shut off.
REDIAL
Your system may have the ability to recognize a busy signal, and then hang up and dial again. Try to get in the habit of dialing hands-free (using the speakerphone). If you get a busy signal, press REDIAL. The phone will try the call again immediately; and if another busy signal is encountered, it will start a sequence of multiple calls until the call is answered.
If the call is not answered within about 15 minutes, the redialing will stop, but you can restart it by tapping REDIAL.
The REDIAL button can also be used for an individual attempt to call the previous number you dialed. Just tap REDIAL.
CONFERENCE
You can speak with two other people outside the house at the same time. You can do this with two incoming calls, two outgoing calls, or one of each. After speaking to someone on one line, press CONF, and speak to someone on the other line and press CONF again. This will put the three of you together. At the end of the conference, if you want to speak to just one person, press the line button for the person you want to keep, and the other call will be dropped.
SINGLE-LINE PHONES
The first dial tone you hear with a single-line phone is usually INTERCOM dial tone. You can dial another phone within the house or business, or press 9 to get dial tone for an outside call. You can put a call on hold and switch to intercom by pressing the FLASH button, or hang up briefly.
You can get a call that was put on hold elsewhere, by dialing 53 plus the line number, with two digits (e.g.: dial 5302 for line #2). You can also dial 51 plus the intercom number where the call was put

tips & tricks
Question: When I pick up my phone, I want to automatically pick up an outside line to call out.
Answer:
PT (Proprietary Telephone): go to each phone and press the Program button. On the keypad dial 1, 9, 1 and then press the Store button to save.
SLT (Single-Line Telephone): go off hook and dial *7402 9 #. Hang up, go off hook again and dial *7401.
Question: Pressing the FLASH key doesn't flash the outside line to answer call waiting.
Answer:
Connect to the TDA via PCMC (PC Maintenance Console) and go into 4.Extension, (1.Wired or 2.Portable Extension) 1.Extension Settings. Click on the Option 7 tab and set "Flash Mode During CO Conversation" to EFA (external feature access).
Question: What is required in order to remotely change the mode say from day to nite? Will a DISA card do this?
Answer:
You can set up a mailbox in a TVA to do this. Set the transfer sequence of the mailbox to F*7800 or F*7801. Then call into A.A. and dial the mailbox number to put the system in the corresponding mode.
Question: I cant get OHCA on my 7630 phone despite all relevant program enabled for OHCA.

Question: What causes the; Sorry, no one's available to answer your call... prompt and how to get rid of it?
Answer:

Under service settings drag out day control for the custom service. Check off every day of the week, set assign operation transfer to mailbox and enter the mailbox number under value.
Panasonic KX-TAW848 tips
(Some also apply to the KX-TDA50G.)
(1) While you are making programming changes with the software, it's important to save your changes to the SD card in the phone system. Click on the little SD icon near the top of the screen.
(2) If the alarm light comes on, don't assume there has been major damage. The light can be triggered by something as simple as unplugging a KX-T0141 cell station. Use the PC software. Close anything active on the right part of the screen by clicking on OK. Then click on Utility from the top of the screen. Then select Error Log from the drop-down menu. Then view and clear the error log (major and minor) when it opens on the right side of the screen. The alarm light will go out. (It's not possible to turn off the light from a phone.)
(3) Unlike the KX-TD systems, there are no default artificial extension numbers for the voice processor ports connected to a KX-TAW848. We recommend that you use 165 for the first one. In the 848, this is called a floating extension number.
(4) There are many lapses of logic, and inconsistencies in the installation manual and programming software. For example, you'll see both WIRELESS phones and CORDLESS phones, and both wireless PHONES and wireless STATIONS. They mean the same thing.
(5) Phones can have intercom numbers (extension numbers) ranging from 100 to 600. By default, the first 24 phones are numbered 101 through 124, but can be changed.
(6) When you turn on your system for the first time, you must initialize it with the System Initialize Switch and Reset Button on the cabinet. Instructions for this procedure start on page 98 of the installation manual. If you install any optional circuit modules after initializing, you don't have to initialize the system again. The system will automatically recognize the new additions.
(7) In order to use the "maintenance console" software to program your system, you will probably have to load its USB driver.
(8) You can plug-in a source of music- or message-on-hold, or select from two types of synthesized built-in on-hold tunes, or a periodic "beep-beep" tone. Here's how to change the setting: From the expandable menu at the left of the screen, click on System, then BGM / Music on Hold. On the right-hand side of the screen, Click on "Apply" and "OK." Click on the SD icon near the top of the screen to save to the SD memory card. Internal BGM/MOH 1 sounds kind of like a combination "Sidewalks of New York" and "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." Internal BGM/MOH 2 is "A Lover's Concerto" ("How Gentle is the Rain.")
(9) Unlike other Panasonic systems, it's hard to accidentally turn on background music. Press Intercom, then *7511 to turn it on, or *7510 to turn it off.
(10) The system is very smart. It knows what circuit modules you've installed. For example, you can't program door intercom ringing, if you have not installed a door intercom circuit board.
(11) If you're having trouble saving your program settings while using a PC, make sure you're not in BATCH mode, instead of INTERACTIVE. Look at the bottom-left of the screen. If you're in batch, exit the program, and re-connect to the phone system.
(12) The manuals have tiny type that may be hard for your to read. Much (maybe all) of the material in the Installation Manual is also viewable on your PC, with larger type and diagrams, by selecting HELP from the top of the "maintenance console" software.
